The Scandinavian Society of Cincinnati Foundation Scholarship/Grant Up to $1000
The purpose of The Scandinavian Society of Cincinnati Foundation is to foster the development of ideas, knowledge, culture and understanding between the peoples of the United States of America and the peoples of the Scandinavian countries. The term Scandinavian is meant to be Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.
Activities Eligible for Funding.
Funds of the Scandinavian Society of Cincinnati Foundation may be granted for one of the following categories:
- Scholarships to study Scandinavian languages and/or culture in one or more Scandinavian countries. The goal is that such studies should help the student achieve a deeper understanding and appreciation of the Scandinavian contributions to world culture
- Scholarships to students from Scandinavia for studies in the US to help improve mutual understanding and goodwill between the US and the Scandinavian countries.
- Visits, events or performances that may help preserve the Scandinavian heritage of the people of Scandinavian origin or descent in the Greater Cincinnati area.
- Study and prepare a 10-page double-spaced grant committee reviewed paper on some aspects of one or more of the Scandinavian countries that is acceptable for the Viking Press and a Power Point Presentation for a Scandinavian Society meeting
Persons Eligible for funding
Grants are limited to persons/students from the Greater Cincinnatiarea, students from Scandinavia studying in the GreaterCincinnati area and persons or groups putting on Scandinavian cultural events in this area.
